Overseas Study Protection Plan Claim

Here are the steps for making a claim under the Overseas Study Protection Plan.

Before submitting

  • If you need emergency assistance while travelling, call our Appointed Assistance Company at their 24-hour hotline (65) 6533 9450.
  • Please submit your claim within 30 days of the insured event(s).

Submitting the claim


Step 1: Complete claim form

Please print and complete the overseas study protection plan claim form.


Step 2: Prepare required documents

Please note that the list of documents below is not exhaustive. Other documents may be requested if necessary.

Police report where applicable

Death claim

  • Death certificate, autopsy report, coroner's findings
  • Proof of relationship between the insured and the claimant, e.g. copy of marriage certificate / birth certificate
  • Police report, if applicable

Permanent disability claim

  • Medical report

Medical expenses claim

  • Original medical bills and receipts
  • If these have been given to another insurer/employer, please provide:
    • Photocopy of the bills
    • Reimbursement letter / discharge voucher from the insurer/employer indicating the amount paid by them

Study interruptions / Compassionate visit claim

  • Copy of hospital bill / death certificate
  • Proof of insured’s relationship with the person in hospital or who has died
  • Original invoice for purchase of air ticket
  • Original invoice for tuition fee paid

Travel delay / Baggage delay

  • Scheduled and revised flight itinerary, boarding pass or passport stamp which shows the date of departure and return to Singapore
  • Written confirmation from the transport operator of the public transport on the cause and length of the travel or baggage delay
  • Delay report and acknowledgement slip (baggage delay claim)

Loss or damage of personal belongings at overseas residence / Loss of or damage to check-in baggage with a commercial airline / Losing of travel documents

  • Flight itinerary, boarding pass or passport stamp which shows the date of departure and return to Singapore
  • Police report of the lost item (or items)
  • Baggage loss or damage report filed with authorities or service providers
  • Confirmation letter from airlines or travel agent or operator of amount paid as compensation for the loss
  • Photographs of damaged item (or items)
  • Copy of diagnostic report from repairer stating the cause and extent of damage
  • Original repair bill or quotation of repair for damaged item (or items) or original purchase receipt or credit card statement and warranty card of the lost or damaged item (or items)
  • Original invoice for the economy-class transport and accommodation expenses incurred to apply to replace the lost passport or travel documents

Original receipt for passport replacement/passport photograph/travel documents


Step 3: Submit the completed claim form and required documents

You can submit your claim form and necessary documents through any of these channels:

  • At an Income branch
  • To your insurance adviser
  • By email to pcc@income.com.sg
    Please note that the total size of file attachments in each email should not exceed 30MB.
    For medical claims, please send the original medical bills to our postal address or submit them at our branches.

After claim submission

We will settle your claim within 10 working days after we receive all information/documents required.

We require more time to process claims which require further clarification. For such cases, we will keep you informed of developments.
