Her Story
When Syahirah’s mother, the sole breadwinner of the family passed away, the first thing she wanted to do was to drop out of school so that she could work full-time to support her family.
Working part-time while juggling school was challenging. Thus, Syahirah was most relieved when she came onboard the Income OrangeAid Future Development Programme (FDP) as the bursary award helped defray her school fees and living expenses.
How OrangeAid has helped
As such, she was able to focus better on her studies, particularly during high-stress exams periods. Beyond the financial aid, Syahirah’s experience at the Income OrangeAid workshops also helped her better appreciate the importance of financial literacy. Syahirah aspires towards a career in education. Thus, being able to meet new people and learn new skills have helped her become more confident in achieving her ambition.
